Effective Safety Target Setting Methods

This is the first installment of the target setting workshop series. In this web-based workshop, presenters focus on target setting methods for safety performance measures covering fatal and serious crashes on all public roads. Many of the challenges in this area revolve around dealing with worsening performance and targets, generating alignment across different plans, coordinating among agencies, and accounting for non-motorized data in addition to automobile crashes. The methods presented include targeted reduction, time-series trends, statistical models, and post-hoc adjustment methods.
