The Ohio DOT Preservation homepage communicates the agency's strategy and operational approach to preservation is clear, compelling terms. In addition to a simple user interface that highlights key initiatives, the Preservation homepage features an innovative animated video: Taking Care of What We Have that introduces basic concepts related to asset preservation, investment, and performance. The agency notes that "Most people notice when ODOT builds something new, but we actually spend 93% of our time and resources preserving our transportation system. We continue to implement new, smarter ways to improve safety and protect Ohio’s investment in the more than 43,000 miles of roads and 14,000 bridges that ODOT maintains."

A culmination of discussions with communities and other stakeholders, Louisiana's long range plan analyzes the state of the Louisiana transportation system including its condition, performance, and funding needs. The result of these analyses is a set of policy and strategy recommendations to guide the state through to 2044. The plan is multimodal, giving consideration to ports, waterways, aviation, freight, and transit as well as highways and automobile traffic.

This Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP) is MDT’s first formal plan that builds from the foundation established by MDT's Performance Programming Process (P3). The 2015 TAMP emphasizes communicating asset management objectives, documenting a management approach, synthesizing information, identifying potential investment strategies, assessing risks affecting transportation, and documenting current gaps.
